Targeting Three Winter Wheat Generations in Fourteen Months
The winter wheat planted in last October are just emerged or in tillering stage in Central Anatolia and other regions of Turkey. At the same time, first cycle of 22,000 plants from 100 cross planted as F3 generation in the speed breeding greenhouse in last October-December were harvested. The program is targeting to harvest F4 and F5 stages in the greenhouse till the end of 2021. Thus, three generations will be obtained in the greenhouse within 14 months. As the following stage, F6 generation will be planted in the field as a single spike row in the 2021-22 season.
